Vigilant honors EMS member for taking first steps into full service

Vigilant Fire Company EMS member Jonathan Bakshi was recognized at the regular monthly meeting of the Vigilant Fire Company on Monday, March 5 for completing his probation.

The probation period is the first year of membership, when new members take basic in-house training classes to start being able to answer calls, Vigilant Fire Chief Joshua Charry explained. After that, they enroll in classes through various county fire and EMS academies to complete their training.

Bakshi was presented with his helmet and new permanent shield by Charry.
