Umberto’s of New Hyde Park to host 2nd annual Alfa Romeo Car Show to support Island Harvest

Umberto’s of New Hyde Park, Long Island’s iconic pizzeria and Italian restaurant, will be hosting its second annual car show with the New York Alfa Romeo Owner’s Club on Sunday, Aug. 18 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at their New Hyde Park location (633 Jericho Turnpike in New Hyde Park.
The event will support Island Harvest Food Bank, the region’s leading hunger-relief organization with a mission to end hunger and reduce food waste on Long Island. Ahead of the event, Umberto’s will be hosting a food drive and placing collection bins at their locations in New Hyde Park, Manhasset, Massapequa Park, Bellmore and Lake Grove.
“Our car show allows us to raise awareness about food insecurity on Long Island and assisting Island Harvest in helping our neighbors in need. We understand that no one should live without having access to food and we embrace Island Harvest’s mission. We welcome our friends and neighbors to join us in celebrating classic Italian automobiles and supporting a worthy cause,” said Umberto Corteo, owner and founder Umberto’s of New Hyde Park.
The show will feature vintage and modern Alfa Romeo vehicles from the New York Alfa Romeo Owner’s Club. The event is free to the public and attendees are asked to bring nonperishable and non-expired food items for Island Harvest. Donations will also be accepted. The event will also feature prizes, giveaways, music, Italian fare and more.
