Opher Rom, host of podcast “OPHERcoming the Odds” will speak at Temple Beth-El on November 5.

Temple Beth-El of Great Neck presents “The History of the Conflict” with Opher Rom on Nov. 5 at 10 a.m. This free event features a bagel breakfast at 10, followed by the speaker and Q&A.

Rom is the captivating host of the podcast “OPHERcoming the Odds.”

He brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to the world of history and culture. Following his service in the IDF (Israel Defense Forces) where he served as an infirmary sergeant, Opher earned a bachelor’s degree in history from Hebrew University.

He later completed a comprehensive two-year educational track at the University of Haifa, immersing himself in the tapestry of Israeli history, culture, geography, and the study of religions.

Opher’s passion for enlightening others led him to earn a certificate in tour guiding and has two decades of experience leading tours in Israel.

He served as tour guide for Temple Beth-El’s most recent Israel trip and is visiting from Israel to give talks about history and the current situation of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. His friendly demeanor and remarkable ability to convey vast, intricate knowledge in English and Hebrew make him a highly sought-after lecturer.
