John Lewis Childs School second graders in Donna Ricciardi’s class created clay models to conclude their science unit on habitats.
Throughout the unit, the students learned about various habitats, including the arctic, desert, forest, grassland, ocean and rainforest. They were then assigned a specific habitat for their clay projects. Their sculptures, created out of colorful modeling clay, included plants and animals that can be found in their designated habitats.
On Nov. 1, the students presented their clay models and facts about the habitat to their classmates.
