Sewanhaka High School’s Joel Bossous Jr. competed in the Theodore Roosevelt Oratorical competition and placed first. This competition is open to all Nassau County high school students. It challenges the students to perform independent research and prepare and deliver oratorical elocution about the life and career of Theodore Roosevelt.
Bossous’ first-place win came with a $5,000 scholarship and a one-year complimentary membership to the Theodore Roosevelt Association. In addition, he’s been invited to attend a dinner at the Harvard Club, where he will deliver his oration in the presence of all the distinguished guests that night.Bossous expressed his gratitude to his mentor, Kathleen Crimmins, his parents and the school administration for their enduring support.
