Elmont Memorial senior receives Award of Excellence for artwork

Elmont Memorial High School senior Tierra Thomas was one of eight recipients of the Award of Excellence at this year’s “Go APE” Advanced Placement Student Exhibition at The Art League of Long Island in Dix Hills. The exhibit, which was on view from Jan. 29-Feb. 12, featured 2D and 3D works by 135 AP and IB art students from 42 schools across Long Island.

Thomas created her untitled work digitally on her iPad, using the app Procreate. She is currently enrolled in Ms. Grenier’s AP 2D Design course and is an officer in Elmont’s National Art Honor Society.
