The East Williston School District has been selected as one of the Best Communities for Music Education in the nation by the National Association of Music Merchants Foundation in recognition of the district’s outstanding commitment to providing quality music education and inspiring a love of music among students in all grade levels.

To qualify for the Best Communities designation, East Williston answered detailed questions about funding, graduation requirements, music class participation, instruction time, facilities, support for the music program and community music-making programs. Responses were verified with school officials and reviewed by The Music Research Institute at the University of Kansas.

This recognition and the success of the district’s music program and student-musicians would not have been possible without the work of the district’s talented and dedicated music staff. Congratulations to John D’Onofrio-Watts, Scott Hoefling, Edward Lattari, Alyssa Lubrano, Rachel Macleod, Stan Orlovsky, Peggy Pokrywka and Eve Troiano and the District K-12 Arts Coordinator Danielle Mammolito.
