East Williston hosts contested trustee election March 19

Williston village elections are coming up this month. The Village of East Williston will be holding the only contested election.

The Village of East Williston will be holding a contested election for two trustee positions as well as one village justice position.

Incumbent Trustee Anthony Gallo, incumbent Trustee James Lark and challenger Rushi Vaidya are running for two trustee positions. Incumbent Emil Samuels is running unopposed for village justice.

Both of the trustee positions and the village justice position serve four year terms.

Gallo was first elected as a trustee in 2020, while Lark was first elected as a trustee in 2019. Both Gallo and Lark are running with the Community Party.

Rushi Vaidya, an East Williston resident and project manager at an advisory firm, is running for a trustee position. Vaidya is with the Family Party.

Emil Samuels became acting village justice in 2008. Then he was elected to the board in 2020 as village justice. Samuels is running for village justice again with the Community Party.

The election will be held on March 19 from 12 p.m. to 9 p.m. at East Williston Village Hall at 2 Prospect St., East Williston.

The Village of Mineola will be holding an election for two trustee positions. Both Paul Cusato and Donna Solosky are running unopposed for their seats.

In April, Cusato will have been serving as a Mineola trustee for 20 years.

Solosky has been a trustee for two years.

Both incumbent candidates are running with the New Line Party for another four-year term.

The election will be held on March 19 from 12 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Mineola Community Center at 155 Washington Ave., Mineola.

The Village of Williston Park will be holding an election for two trustee positions. Incumbents Michael Uttaro and William Carr are running unopposed.

Both candidates were first elected as trustees in 2012.

Uttaro and Carr are running with the Integrity Party for another four-year term.

The election will be held on March 19 from 12 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Williston Park Village Hall at 494 Willis Ave., Williston Park.

A previous version of this story mislabeled Mr. Vaidya as a Williston Park resident. It has since been corrected.
