Fourth Graders at East Hills Elementary School found a creative way to celebrate Women’s History Month. They used multiple sources to research famous trailblazers, writers, astronauts, scientists, lawyers, athletes, etc., then “presented” each amazing one with an “Outstanding Woman Award” that highlighted their contribution to society. “My students were buzzing with excitement as they learned about the challenges these women overcame to be successful,” said fourth-grade teacher Karen Renny. “They especially loved finding a quote and connecting it to their own lives.”
Second graders researched various women in history, then created pennants which were hung in the hallway. “The second graders were so proud of their Women’s History Pennants!” said teacher Jodi Zambell.
