East Hills School hosts ‘Wonder’-ful movie night

Kids packed the East Hills Auditorium on the evening of June 1 for the Foundation for Roslyn’s Education Advancement and Development’s Family Movie Night.

Several hundred children and their parents enjoyed a DJ, games and food outside, then moved inside to watch “Wonder.”

Since the start of this decade, READ’s parent volunteers have worked closely with the Board of Education, superintendent and administration to identify goals for fundraising, and have supported a wide range of technology, capital-improvement, character-building and other projects throughout the district.

In recent years, these initiatives have included the zSpace 3-D Learning Lab and Apple TV in classrooms.

Proceeds from this year’s Family Movie Night will provide additional resources for some of the more tangible parts of the district’s security plan.
