Assemblyman Anthony D’Urso (D-Port Washington) brought his annual “Skin-telligence” program to the Clinton G. Martin Pool in New Hyde Park.
The program’s purpose is to spread awareness about skin damage and to promote steps to avoid it. “Skin-telligence” is partnered with the Collete Coyne Melanoma Awareness Campaign. The event included free skin-damage screenings using a Derma Scan machine provided by the campaign and information about staying safe in the sun, as well as free bug repellent, chapstick, and sunscreen.
“It is very important for people to take care of their skin when they go outside, especially during the summer,” said D’Urso.
