Assemblyman Anthony D’Urso presented a NYS Assembly citation to the family of Beverly Hazelkorn at the annual Hanukkah menorah lighting held at the Port Washington train terminal and sponsored by the Chabad of Port Washington. The festive event included dropping gelt by the Port Washington Fire Department using a ladder truck.
Beverly Hazelkorn, a local Port Washington resident and Certified Public Accountant who had a practice on Main Street, passed away last July. Before her death, she asked Rabbi Shalom M. Paltiel if her grandchildren could assist to light the menorah. With the help of her grandchildren lighting the huge menorah, the ceremony was dedicated in her honor and memory.
