Assemblyman Anthony D’Urso acknowledged Mineola High School students for all the volunteer service they do in addition to completing their academic requirements.

“These students are a positive example of good citizenship. They give their free time to help others who are less fortunate,” D’Urso said. “Many of the student have been a tremendous help with getting supplies for my office’s Valentines for Vets drive which were delivered to the Long Island State Veterans Home in Stony Brook and the Northport VA Medical Center.”

The breakfast event was organized by Mineola High School Teacher Eileen Burke who is retiring after 40 years of teaching. Burke has encouraged the students in their volunteering and has been a great inspiration.
