One of Nassau County Legislator Delia DeRiggi-Whitton’s (D-Glen Cove) favorite events is visiting the Port Washington Adult Activities Center, formerly the Senior Citizens Center, every season to celebrate members’ birthdays.
After giving each spring birthday baby a long-stem red rose, she speaks with each senior citizen to ask what they are thankful for. Afterwards, everyone sings “Happy Birthday to You!”
