
The academic accomplishments of students from Elmont Memorial, Floral Park Memorial, H. Frank Carey, New Hyde Park Memorial and Sewanhaka high schools were recognized at the Sewanhaka Central High School District annual Achievement Awards Night on April 24.
Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum and Instruction Kathleen Sottile began the ceremony by expressing the pride and honor of the district administration in being able to recognize all of the recipients.

Students who received Art Supervisors Association senior scholarships, Family, Career and Community Leaders of America honors, New York State Science and Engineering Fair honors, SkillsUSA achievements and Quill Award winners were celebrated, as were students who received recognition at numerous Model U.N. conferences throughout the year. Members of the district’s Wellness Committee and Superintendent’s Student Advisory Council were also celebrated.
Those honored were given Superintendent’s Achievement Awards by their respective principals.
