Author Dara Horn to speak at Temple Beth Sholom on March 24
Renowned author Dara Horn will speak at Temple Beth Sholom of Roslyn Heights on March 24 at 7:45 PM.

Prolific author Dr. Dara Horn will join Rabbi Alan B. Lucas in a conversation about her works at Temple Beth Sholom on Thursday, March 24 at 7:45 p.m.

A two-time winner of the National Jewish Book Award, Horn is the author of six books: ”In the Image,” “The World to Come,” “All Other Nights,” “A Guide for the Perplexed,” “Eternal Life,” and “People Love Dead Jews.”

One of Granta Magazine’s “Best Young American Novelists,” Horn is a scholar of Yiddish and Hebrew literature and has a doctorate in comparative literature from Harvard. She has taught at Sarah Lawrence College, Harvard University, and Yeshiva University, and has lectured on Jewish literature in over 200 universities and cultural institutions.

Lucas will interview Horn about her works, including her latest book, “People Love Dead Jews,” a collection of incisive essays that constitutes a searing investigation of modern-day antisemitism.

This event will kick off the temple’s new Rabbi Alan B. Lucas Lecture Series, founded to honor Rabbi Lucas’s dedication to education, community enrichment, and personal growth. Rabbi Lucas is retiring in June. Sisterhood has contributed in his honor towards the cost of the event.

The event is open to the community. Tickets are $36 for a reserved seat at the lecture. Become a Gold Event Sponsor and choose one of these packages:
