
Our main meeting room will be closed for remodeling during the month of August. Programs will be either virtual, “make and take,” or on the Library lawn.
Tuesday evenings at 6:45 p.m. feature Pilates on the lawn with Maria DaGrossa-Hanna. No experience, no registration required.
For teens, there are several “Make and Take” P[art]y Art projects, a Teen Candy Sushi “Make and Take” Competition, and a virtual Escape Room Event. Magician “Amore” holds a Magician’s Workshop in the upper-level TEENZ area. The National S’mores Day event with Chefs of d’Future will be held on the lawn; if it rains, it’s a “Make and Take!”
Family-friendly events include August 19th’s Live Animals from Green Meadows Farm with Jason Reilly, and a Chefs of d’Future Mommy & Me for children 2-1/2 years to Kindergarten.
Pantherhero visits the Library this month, too.
Children can keep busy this August with programs like: Baby Start’s A Time for Kids and Family Pre-School Hour, Play Hooray Kids, P[art]y Art, Chefs of d’Future for kids grades 1 through 5; Comic Club for kids grades 3 – 5; Seashell Critter Craft with Through the Looking Glass; and a P[art]y Art project.
We host our final Library lawn concert at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 11th when “Bobby Sings Bobby.” Rain date is August 18th.
Assemblywoman Michaelle Solages’ Mobile Office will be at the Library on August 25th from 11:00 am – 1:00 pm.
The Evening Edition Book Club meets at 7:00 pm on August 4th at 7:00 p.m. Claudine Calabetta-Muccine leads the discussion on SJ Sindu’s “Marriage of a Thousand Lies.”
The weekly Wednesday Chair Yoga program continues with all sessions planned for the lawn – weather permitting.
Made with Love Knitting and Crocheting volunteer group meetings are weekly Mondays at 6:30 pm and Wednesdays at 11:30 am.
Mid-summer fine forgiveness continues through August 12th. Up to $5.00 in fines will be forgiven. Contributions to these school supplies are welcome: black dry erase markers; marble notebooks; backpacks; coloring/activity books and kid ear buds.
There is no Library Board Meeting in August. No movie will be shown due to the remodeling.
