On National POW/MIA Recognition Day, Nassau County Legislator Ellen W. Birnbaum (D – Great Neck) joined the Nassau County Veterans Service Agency on Friday, Sept. 17 for their annual POW/MIA Vigil and Remembrance Ceremony at Eisenhower Park’s Veterans Memorial Plaza.

“On the third Friday in September each year, we pause to pay tribute to American prisoners of war and mourn those who never returned from battle. I hope it brings comfort to the families and loved ones who have borne such tremendous heartache over the years,” Legislator Birnbaum said.
