Islandwide Weather began as “Weatherman Glen” in 2013, as a small Facebook page that
reached mainly close friends and family. After word got out of the success of the page, it quickly grew to over 1,200 followers in a short period of time.

In 2015, Donald Golde jumped on board, and the name of the page was changed to “Islandwide Weather.”

The abundance of information on meteorology on the Facebook page led to an explosive growth in followers to its current number of 72,000. While not meteorologists with a degree, Don and Glen from Islandwide Weather have extensive knowledge in the field and have been studying the science of weather for over forty years.

They have a daily routine of posting forecasts and severe weather systems and how it can impact Long Island.

While having success from a professional standpoint, Don and Glen also bring a sense of humor and “realism” to their followers. They’ve even started a tradition of doing live videos from Buffalo Wild Wings, in a relaxed yet serious manner, when it comes to threats of major snowstorms or threats of tropical storm systems.

Islandwide Weather is now a “go-to” Facebook page for many Long Islanders and has become a reliable source for weather information for people’s daily lives.
