Two Flushing men were arrested and charged with robbery after allegedly stealing merchandise from Macy’s in Manhasset on Tuesday, according to police.
Lawrence Davis, 37, and Hulin Piao, 42, were charged with second-degree robbery. Piao was also charged with criminal possession of an anti-security item.
Nassau County police said that a Macy’s loss prevention associate notified an officer patrolling the Macy’s at 1100 Northern Blvd. of two men who had stolen items from the store. The associate told the officer they had fled in a black Kia.
Davis and Piao were then stopped by police near Northern Boulevard and Community Drive where they were then arrested, according to police.
Further police investigation also found that Davis had a physical altercation with a Macy’s loss prevention associate when he fled the store.
Davis and Piao were arraigned Wednesday in the county’s First District Court, where they both pleaded not guilty to their charges. They were released on bail with non-monetary conditions.
