The Hillside Library is partnering with Long Island Coalition for the Homeless in doing a School Supply Drive.

Needed items include backpacks; folders; spiral and marble notebooks; pens; lunchboxes; markers; glue sticks; binders; scissors; highlighters; calculators.  As always, we thank you for your generosity.

Movie! The Creator –  Rating: PG-13. All Purpose Room

Friday, June 28 at 1 p.m. “In a dystopian future where an impending war is to take place between humans and artificial intelligence creatures, a former special forces agent is tasked with a special mission that might prevent the war. The mission is to find a mysterious weapon that could also annihilate humankind. But when he discovers that the weapon is in the form of a young artificial intelligence boy, a moral dilemma ensues.”

Movie! Mr. Smith Goes to Washington – Rating: PG.  All Purpose Room

Tuesday, July 2 at 1 p.m. “When the idealistic young Jefferson Smith (James Stewart) winds up appointed to the United States Senate, he gains the mentorship of Sen. Joseph Paine (Claude Rains). However, Paine isn’t as noble as his reputation would indicate and, determined to stand up against Paine and his corrupt peers, Smith takes his case to the Senate floor.”

Wednesday, July 3 at 6:30 p.m. The book being discussed is: We have “Always Lived in the Castle” by Shirley Jackson. “A deliciously unsettling novel about a perverse, isolated, and possibly murderous family and the struggle that ensues when a cousin arrives at their estate.”
