On Sunday, April 14, 2024, at 3 pm at the North Shore High School Theater, The Northwinds Symphonic Band will present their annual Spring program – ConcertBand Classics and Virtuoso Artistry. Admission is free.

Conductors Helen P. Bauer, Brandon Bromsey, and Maîtresse de Cérémonie Melinda Edwards invite you to enjoy a musical experience featuring musicians from the band who will impress with their virtuosity and transport with their musicality.

Featured soloists are Lauren Osnato on flute displaying her lyrical and virtuosic prowess with Czardas, Brett Manzo on trombone playing the melodious Thoughts of Love waltz, and clarinetist Deborah Peltz who will perform the haunting melody of the Theme from Schindler’s List.

In addition, the band will spotlight two sectional showcases. Our talented saxophone section will bring the sounds of Big Band swing to the stage with Five to Go, and a trio from our trumpet section will entertain with precision and technique with Bugler’s Holiday.

Northwinds is also proud to debut Hope for Tomorrow, an evocative tone poem composed by band member and clarinetist Zachery Dornfeld. Other programmed pieces include concert band classics by Bruce Broughton, Alfred Reed, Robert Sheldon, and others.

The North Shore High School Theater is located at 450 Glen Cove Avenue, Glen Head, NY 11545, and is wheelchair accessible.
