PLEASE TAKE NOTICE that sealed bids will be received by the Board of Trustees, Village of Great Neck, on behalf of the Village of Great Neck, at the Village Hall, 767 Middle Neck Road, Great Neck, New York 11024, from March 11, 2024, through March 22, 2024, not later than 12:30 P.M. prevailing time, at which time they will be publicly opened and read aloud for the following project: MIDDLE NECK ROAD MEDIAN PLANTING NOTICE TO BIDDERS, INSTRUCTIONS TO BIDDERS, FORM OF PROPOSAL, FORM OF CONTRACT, PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS, etc., may be seen at or procured from the office of the Village Clerk, 767 Middle Neck Road, Great Neck, New York 11024, on or after February 26, 2024. A certified check or bank draft, PAYABLE TO THE ORDER OF THE VILLAGE OF GREAT NECK; negotiable U.S. Government Bonds (at par value); or a satisfactory bid bond executed by the bidder and an acceptable surety, in an amount equal to five percent (5%) of the total bid for MIDDLE NECK ROAD MEDIAN PLANTING shall be submitted with the bid, which will be returned to all except the three selected bidders within seven (7) days after the opening of bids, and the remaining bid security will be returned promptly after the Owner and the accepted bidder have executed the contract. The bid security of the successful bidder will be returned within three (3) days after the contract has been executed. The successful bidder, upon failure or refusal to execute the contract within five (5) days (Saturdays and Sundays excepted) after he has been notified of the award of the contract to him, shall forfeit to the Board of Trustees, as liquidated damages, for such failure or refusal, the bid security deposited with his bid. The Board reserves the right to reject any or all bids, or to waive any informalities in the bidding and to accept such bid, which in the opinion of the Board of Trustees, is in the best interest of the Village.
