Town of North Hempstead Supervisor Jennifer DeSena, Council Members Robert Troiano, Jr. and Dennis Walsh, and Nassau County Legislator Siela Bynoe hosted a Thanksgiving turkey giveaway at the “Yes We Can” Community Center on Nov. 20.
The donations for the giveaway were made possible by: Island Harvest, the Junior League of Long Island, Meadow Carting, Westbury Paper Stock and County Read Mix. Town officials helped hand out over 350 free turkeys and over 150 packages containing dry goods to families in the community.
