Mark Berger exemplifies what Great Neck should be.
I learned this when our sons first began playing soccer together many years ago. It became clear to me very quickly that Mark wanted to meet and get to know parents of all backgrounds.
He really listened to you and took an interest in what you had to say. He realized that in a community like ours, our diversity is our strength. It was clear that he believed that each culture, nationality, and religion had so much to offer to those of different backgrounds.
And when I heard that he was running for commissioner of the Great Neck Water Pollution Control District, I wanted the rest of the community to get to know Mark as I have.
Knowing him as I do, I am not at all surprised that he is seeking to serve the community in new ways.
His desire to protect our water while at the same time developing new and innovative strategies to save taxpayers money are things that we can all get behind. Vote for Mark on Dec. 12.
