The Board of Education of the Herricks Union Free School District (the “School District”) in accordance with Section 103 of Article 5-A of the General Municipal Law, hereby invites the submission of sealed bids from reputable and qualified bidders for the provision of labor, materials and services for the following contract:

LEASE OF SCHOOL BUSES

Bid Opening: December 1, 2023 at 1:30 p.m.

Bids for the contract will be received until the above stated hour of prevailing time and date at the School District Purchasing Office, 999B Herricks Road, New Hyde Park, NY, at which time and place all bids will be publicly opened. Specifications and bid forms may be obtained at the same office, beginning on Friday, November 17, 2023, Monday through Friday between the hours of 9:00 am and 3:00 pm excluding holidays.

Bids must be presented on the standard bid form in the manner designated therein and as required by the Specifications. All bids must be enclosed in sealed envelopes which are clearly marked on the outside: Bid for: LEASE OF SCHOOL BUSES. All bidders must complete the bid forms. No bids will be considered which have not been received by the deadline set forth on the Invitation to Bid. The School District is not responsible for delays occasioned by any delivery service, the internal mail delivery system of the School District or any other means of delivery employed by the Bidder. No phone, fax or email bids will be accepted. Bids shall remain firm for a period of forty five (45) days following the date of the bid opening.

The Board of Education reserves the right to waive any informalities in or to reject any or all bids, or to accept that bid which, in the Board of Education’s judgement, is in the best interest of the School District.

The Board of Education reserves the right to consider experience, service and reputation in connection with the services to be rendered. In addition, the Board of Education reserves the right to consider the financial responsibility and specific qualifications as set forth in the bid specifications, of the prospective bidder in its evaluation of the bids and award of the contracts.

Bidders shall be required to furnish, at their own expense, a bid bond or certified check in the amount of ten percent (10%) of the bid amount together with the bid.
