It is always heart-warming to see young men and women express civic-mindedness, whether in ways small or large, especially in these times.
One such example is that of Chayim Mahgerefteh, a 20-something who grew up here in Great Neck, running for Great Neck Library trustee, bringing his professional expertise as a CPA at one of the major accounting firms in the U.S. to bear on our community and our children.
I’ve known him since his time in grade school with my own children. Chayim is serious yet delightful, diligent to a fault, thoughtful and responsive. Our library system provided foundational support to his academic achievements, and he is energized at the prospect of giving back by maintaining and enhancing its capabilities for the next generation of students in our diverse and motivated community.
I heartily support his candidacy and look forward to seeing Chayim not only give back, but be a role model in civic responsibility for all of us.
