Herricks teacher removed from classroom after ‘disturbing’ video surfaces online

A Herricks School District teacher was removed from the classroom after district officials learned of a “disturbing and upsetting” video that was posted online.

Superintendent Tony Sinanis said in a letter to families “It has come to our attention that there is a video currently circulating on various platforms that allegedly features one of our teachers. We understand that the contents of this video are disturbing and upsetting.”

Sinanis said the district is conducting a full investigation into the incident.

Brendan Bosh, the communications director for the Nassau County District Attorney’s office, confirmed to Blank Slate Media Thursday afternoon they are investigating the matter with their law enforcement officers.

The Herricks Board of Education is meeting tonight at the Herricks Community Center at 7:30 p.m. It is unclear if the incident will be addressed at the meeting, according to the agenda.
