Movie! Elvis – All Purpose Room

Wednesday, Aug. 9 at 1 p.m. Kick off Elvis Week with this movie about the King of Rock ‘n’ Roll. “From his rise to fame to his unprecedented superstardom, rock ‘n’ roll icon Elvis Presley maintains a complicated relationship with his enigmatic manager, Colonel Tom Parker, over the course of 20 years. Central to Presley’s journey and happiness is one of the most influential people in his life — Priscilla.”

Fresh Fiction Book Club – 1st Floor Modular Room and Virtual

Wednesday, Aug. 9 at 6:30 p.m.  The book: The River by Peter Heller. “Wynn and Jack have been best friends since college orientation, bonded by their shared love of mountains, books, and fishing. When they decide to canoe the Maskwa River in northern Canada, they anticipate long days of leisurely paddling and picking blueberries, and nights of stargazing and reading paperback Westerns. But a wildfire making its way across the forest adds unexpected urgency to the journey.”

Felt Animal Craft – All Purpose Room

Thursday, Aug. 10 at 6 p.m.  Have a Whale of a time at this fun craft class!  Create an adorable felt ocean animal while learning about the history of wool crafting at sea from the staff at the Cold Spring Harbor Whaling Museum. Patrons aged 18+ only.

Stemtastic: Rainbows! App Purpose Room

Monday, Aug. 7 at 4:30 p.m. Ages: 4 – 6 years (with parent/caregiver). We’ll observe the science behind how the unified white light is made up of the diversity of colors. We’ll paint our own rainbows using red, blue, & yellow and observe the magic that happens when they come together.

Magical Mazes! – All Purpose Room

Tuesday, Aug. 8 at 4:30 p.m. Ages: 8 years & Up. Robotic sphero ball coding returns to Hillside! Work cooperatively to design a portion of a maze! Groups will marge their individual mazes to create a final combined maze. Participants will challenge each other to navigate the sphero ball through the entire maze!

Imagine! Storytelling with Lu Ann Adams – Children’s Room

Thursday, Aug. 10 at 6 p.m. All Ages – Family Fun!  Multi-talented storyteller, Lu Ann Adams is returning for another visit! “Nothing is Impossible, When We Work Together!” Lots of audience participation, let’s all work together! Don’t miss the fun!
