The Port Washington School District is proud to announce that the Harvey Lewis Foundation has generously donated a flagpole to the Washington Athletics Department, which was installed on May 2.

The Harvey Lewis Foundation was posthumously established in honor of Harvey “Dick” Lewis, a well-known resident of Port Washington who loved the community dearly.

Its goal is to give back to the town that meant so much to him. This generous donation is a testament to the foundation’s commitment to supporting the local community.

The installation ceremony was attended by several members of the Harvey Lewis Foundation, the athletic director of Port Washington, Nick Schratwieser, students, coaches, and staff.

The event was a celebration of the partnership between the two organizations and a testament to the power of philanthropy in creating a positive impact in the community.

Nick Schratwieser, the athletic director, expressed his gratitude for the Harvey Lewis Foundation’s support and how the donation has improved the athletic facilities, creating an environment that inspires students and athletes to achieve their best. The foundation’s contribution will undoubtedly benefit many generations to come.

The Harvey Lewis Foundation has a long-standing tradition of providing scholarships to Paul D. Schreiber High School seniors, which has been continuing for over thirty years.

The Foundation’s contributions to education and athletics in Port Washington demonstrate their unwavering commitment to the community’s betterment.
