Kids look forward to summer all year long – for over 20 years, KidsPort Summer has given kids “the best summer ever!” KidsPort Summer at the Port Washington Children’s Center keeps kids in Port Washington engaged, adventurous and active all summer long.

Like all of our childcare programs, our summer program offers enriching experiences for kids to grow. Our Summer Calendar has opportunities to explore the outdoors, develop skills, meet new friends and discover local adventures.

Summers are made for kids to get out and explore. We are excited to offer structured recreational and educational activities that help children learn and grow over their summer break. Our summer programming helps to ensure that your child continues to build on progress made during the school year.

Attending the Port Washington Children’s Center KidsPort Summer is an excellent opportunity for kids to have their minds and bodies activated all summer long.

This year, we are excited to have more enrichment programming during days on campus – and continue to bring back local performers, activities and trips that our KidsPort kids love!

“It is essential for kids to stay socially, physically and academically engaged over the summer. KidsPort Summer is an amazing way to ensure that,” Omar Irizarry, interim school aged director at the Port Washington Children’s Center, said. “During our summer session, kids are in a welcoming environment at our park side campus and are free to learn from a range of educators during specialty classes and trips, like weekly trips to Whitney Pond Park Pool. We are excited to meet new families and create lasting memories with children this summer.”

Irizarry said there are four main reasons why children should attend KidsPort Summer:

1. Wholesome fun – Summer childcare provides fun and interactive activities that engage the mind and body. Our dietary team creates a nutritious breakfast, lunch and snack for children and activities provide a good reason to run around.
2. Personal growth – Everybody is welcome and everybody is given a chance to grow. Our visits to the pool include swim lessons and our specialty classes help children learn new skills. Our Center follows the emergent approach – we look to create ways to support children’s development of confidence and foster independence through challenges and responsibilities.
3. Adventure – KidsPort Summer opens kids up to a variety of new experiences. Our daily activities, specialty classes and weekly themes create new adventures every day.
4. Memories – Summer is full of unforgettable memories with friends and these experiences and traditions last a lifetime. We love seeing returning campers and sharing experiences with our new friends too.

Enrollment is now open for our KidsPort Summer Program.

Port Washington Children’s Center KidsPort Summer offers the following weekly themes:

Week 1:               June 26-30             Summer Begins

Week 2:               July 3-7                     Explorers Week

Week 3:               July 10-14                Shark Week

Week 4:               July 17-21              Challenger Week

Week 5:               July 24-28              Pirate Week

Week 6:               July 31-August 4          Nature Week

Week 7:               Aug 7-11                Making Magic

Week 8:               Aug 14-18             Broadway Bound

Week 9:               Aug 21-25             Clowning Around

Session one is from June 26 through July 26 and Session two is from July 27 through August 24. 2023 KidsPort Summer fees are $2,125 for one session and $3,950 for both sessions. There is a nonrefundable deposit of $250 per child.

The Center is closed on July 3 and 4.

All trips and meals (breakfast, lunch and snack) are included in the tuition.
