Temple Isaiah to host LGBTQ discussion group

Temple Isaiah will host the first in a series of open discussion groups for the local LGBTQ community and their allies on Sunday, April 2n at 2:00 p.m..

The Temple recently presented a forum by PFLAG, the national support organization for parents and friends of lesbians and gays, and is now offering to host ongoing discussion groups.

According to Rabbi Jerry Blum, “We at Temple Isaiah of Great Neck are committed to providing a safe space for the LGBTQ community to discuss issues of importance to them and to feel welcome in our synagogue.”

There will be a licensed master social worker (LMSW) available to moderate the discussion, but there are no pre-set topics or agenda. Participants will determine their own agenda.

Everyone is invited; there is no admission fee or RSVP required, and light refreshments will be served. Temple Isaiah is located at One Chelsea Place, off Cutter Mill Road. For any questions call the Temple office at 516-487-5373.
