The partial roof replacement is complete, the new handicapped accessible front entrance reconstruction is in the final stages, and the installation of high-efficiency, energy-saving lights (part of a Floral Park Village initiative) is underway. Sprucing up for our 100th Birthday this year!

On the programs front, perennials Play Hooray, Funkytown Playground, and Baby Start’s A Time for Kids and Family Pre-School hour return in March.

For Grades 3 – 5 kids, programs include: Dreamcatchers with the Pom Queen, Pokemon Catapaults, and a P[art]y Art craft. Other age groups have quite a few choices, too: Harry Potter Sorting Hat Ceremony; StoryCraft; Young Engineers Mario Day; a Mommy and Me with Chefs of d’Future, Puffy Paint Rainbows; and a P[art] Art program for the PreK – grade 2 crafters.

Amanda Montoni, author of the new children’s book “Bella the Buck-toothed Ballerina” pays a visit to the Library to read her picture book.

There’s a St. Patrick’s Day cooking program with Chefs of d’Future for Teens, and a teen P[art]y Art event with Ali, too. Chefs of d’Future brings St. Patrick’s Day goodies to a Family program so sought after that two separate sessions are planned.

Game Nite for Grownups is back on select Tuesdays. This month’s Monday movie matinee features “The Banshees of Inisherin.” In addition, the adults can ZOOM into Medicare Made Simple, sample and learn how to make Mediterranean Sweet Treats with Chef Naela Zaidan, Make a Spring Awakening Basket, and/or attend a six-hour Defensive Driving class, the latter three programs in person.

Wednesday morning’s weekly hybrid Chair Yoga with Micheline continues to be one of the most popular programs.

By appointment only AARP Tax Assistance continues through April 11th. The English Language Learners program meets Saturday mornings (pre-registration required).

It’s a visit to the New York Historical Society Museum for the Floral Park Library Urban Explorers this month.

The Made with Love Knitting and Crocheting meets Mondays at 6:30 p.m. and Wednesdays at 11:30 am. The group is growing and flourishing. The Monday Morning Friends Book Club and the Evening Edition Book Club hold regularly scheduled meetings this month.

The Library Board holds its monthly meeting at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, March 8th.
