A 20-year-old from Far Rockaway has been charged with carjacking a woman at gunpoint before driving off with her SUV last week, police said.
Amir Simmons allegedly approached the 50-year-old female victim around 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 1 as she was leaving her parked 2020 white Ford Escape and told her to leave the car while pointing a black handgun.
Simmons left the scene on Stratford Avenue before driving north, police said. No injuries were reported.
Simmons is charged with robbery in the first degree, criminal possession of stolen property in the third degree and unauthorized use of a vehicle in the third degree.
