John Lewis Childs School commemorated Fire Prevention Month with a fire drill with members of the Floral Park Fire Department, as well as a “Fire Won’t Wait” poster contest.
Following the fire drill, Assistant Chief Eric O’Connor and Assistant Chief Gil Luger addressed students in grades 4-6, discussing fire prevention and how to have a plan at home in case of an emergency. They then announced the winners of the poster contest. Tanisha Patel earned first place, Lucille Lynch earned second place and Erin Fifield earned third place.
