Professional Physical Therapy celebrated the opening of its Port Washington location on Oct. 6.
The new space is at 20 Soundview Marketplace inside Target Plaza. At the grand opening ceremony, elected officials, the Port Washington Chamber of Commerce and appreciative residents joined Clinical Director Shoshana Gelb for a tour of the new facility.
Gelb has lived in Port Washington for four years and worked as a physical therapist for 12 years. She said the opening merges her home and work.
“I always was commuting into the city and there was kind of a white space,” she said. “There are not many physical therapy clinics here. But there’s a huge and growing population almost close to 15,000 people.”
Professional Physical Therapy is one of the largest physical therapy providers in the Northeast. With locations in New York, New Jersey and New England, it emphasizes wellness during and after therapy.
“People are always asking where the best place to go for physical therapy is,” said Gelb. “I took that opportunity and went through all the steps to make this happen.”
For Port’s newest physical therapy location, expertise defines their work. Alongside the latest technology and personalized programs, Gelb said residents should find comfort in the combination of commitment and community.
“I’m just excited to be able to be to give back to the community to help people feel better,” she said. “To prevent injuries, help them heal and really to help them with their journey to get back to the things that they like to do.”
