The proposition which shall be voted upon, and which will appear on the ballot is:FLORAL PARK-BELLEROSE UNION FREE SCHOOL DISTRICT ñ CAPITAL RESERVE PROPOSITIONShall the Board of Education (the ìBoardî) of the Floral Park-Bellerose Union Free School District (the ìDistrictî), be hereby authorized to appropriate and expend from the DistrictÃs Capital Reserve Fund ñ 2018 established by the voters of the District on May 15, 2018 in the amount of Six Hundred Twenty Thousand Dollars ($620,000.00), and to appropriate and expend from the DistrictÃs Capital Reserve Fund ñ 2021 established by the voters of the District on May 18, 2021 in the amount of One Million Three Hundred Seventy-Five Thousand Dollars ($1,375,000.00), an amount totaling and not exceeding One Million Nine Hundred Ninety-Five Thousand Dollars ($1,995,000.00), to undertake and perform certain school building improvement projects including the Boiler Conversion project and HVAC replacement systems District-wide and any project described in the DistrictÃs Five Year Capital Facilities Plan (ìPlanî) dated November 30, 2021 and available for public inspection in the office of the District Clerk and on the DistrictÃs website; all at no additional cost to District taxpayers; said Project to commence during the 2022-23 school year and to consist of certain capital improvements, construction, reconstruction, renovations and/or alterations in all District buildings and facilities and the sites thereof, including (as and where necessary): security improvements; interior renovations; paving work; and HVAC upgrades; all of the foregoing to include site improvements, furnishings, equipment, apparatus, machinery, demolition and other incidental work or improvements required in connection therewith, as well as preliminary costs and costs incidental thereto and to the financing thereof; provided that the detailed costs of the components of the Project as set forth in the Plan may be reallocated among such components if the Board of Education shall determine that such reallocation is in the best interests of the District and no material change shall be made to the scope of the Project.3. The election of two (2) members of the Board of Education as follows: one (1) memberto be elected for a full three-year term to fill the vacancy created by the expiration (as of June 30, 2022) of the term of office of Michael Culotta, for a new term to commence on July 1, 2022. One (1) member to be elected for a full three-year term to fill the vacancy created by the expiration (as of June 30, 2022) of the term of office of Douglas Vigo, for a new term to commence on July 1, 2022.FURTHER NOTICE IS GIVEN that candidates for office Board of Education member shall be nominated by petition. Each vacancy upon the Board of Education to be filled shall be considered a separate specific office. A separate petition is required to nominate a candidate to each separate office. Each petition shall be directed to the District Clerk, shall be signed by at least twenty-five (37) qualified voters of the School District, shall state the residence of each signer and shall state the name and residence of the candidate and shall describe the specific vacancy on the Board of Education for which a candidate is nominated, which description shall include at least the length of the term of office and the name of the last incumbent, if any.
