Fazisha Ali-Silochan is currently the clinical director of nursing at the Parker Jewish Institute for Health Care and Rehabilitation, which is in New Hyde Park.
The 527-bed non-profit skilled nursing facility is located on the border of Nassau County and Queens County.
Fazisha credits her career success with not only working hard, but also learning from the mentors she is fortunate to have in her life. This includes mentors at work and the support she finds from family.
An immigrant from Trinidad and Tobago, Fazisha is married, and has two beautiful daughters, one who is age 12, and one who is age 8.
Working at the Parker Jewish Institute for Health Care and Rehabilitation has proven to be rewarding for Fazisha.
For example, Parker has a mission to provide, with compassion and dedication, superior quality health care and rehabilitation for adults. This is a mission that strongly resonates with Fazisha, who finds, in her role as clinical director of nursing, she is of service to the region’s most vulnerable population.
In helping this population, primarily older adults, Fazisha takes part in Parker’s goal to foster and improve the skilled nursing facility’s programs and services, so that it continues to serve as a leader in health care delivery and education.
Fazisha enjoys working at one of the New York metropolitan region’s largest skilled nursing facilities, where there is encouragement for career growth and team members receive training with an eye towards future leadership.
As a nurse, Fazisha aims to make a difference in people’s lives, and does so for those at Parker, whether they are there for Short Term Rehabilitation or Long Term Care.
Fazisha first became a nurse in 2016 with the goal of helping people.
In her career, Fazisha has been quickly recognized for her talent as well as her work ethic. In the past seven years alone, she earned four promotions, from staff nurse, nurse supervisor, nurse manager, associate director of nursing before becoming clinical director of nursing at the Parker Jewish Institute.
